ShowSize PE Trial 5.0 (released July 31, 2008)

Known problems:

  • Version 5.0 had a problem in that it didn’t showed an empty Unused Files report on XP. We have fixed it in the new version 5.0.2. If you are still using 5.0, please get the latest trial edition.
  • If “Find Names” panel is open on the right and you exit ShowSize, it sometimes gives an Error Message and you need to hit on the Close button to finally exit. However, this error is harmless. We’ll fix it in the next version.
  • On Windows Vista, the partition containing Vista itself disallows scanning of certain folders even when ShowSize is running as administrator. These folders may be related to System Restore images. Hence, the actual occupied disk space is much more than what ShowSize shows for the Vista partition. This seems to be a Windows Vista limitation for a user application like ShowSize, and nothing can be done about it.
